Chromatic Scale

Drawing on their deep appreciation for modern architecture and travel, our clients envisioned a home where warmth and design could blend into a cozy sanctuary for their family. Their home, a testament to their creativity and worldly adventures, is a canvas imbued with bold colors and lively spirit.

With a penchant for whimsy and an eye for design, a wind sculpture by Yinka Shonibare adorns the Living Room. Paired with yellow gold sofas and a rug with a bright yellow inkblot design, each element of the room contributes to creating a visually stimulating space.

In the Family Room, a custom bookcase wall unit is the centerpiece, adorned with a collection of books and items gathered from their travels. The space is punctuated by a striking turquoise artwork by Analia Saban, offering a burst of color against a serene, neutral backdrop.

In order to create harmony between the Living Room and Dining Room, a large artwork by Latifa Echakhch, painted with shimmering gold metallic pigment, graces the wall opposite the windows. The placement allows it to be bathed in natural light, casting a golden glow that ties the two spaces together.

On the lower level, the Library walls and custom shelving are enveloped in a moody, deep blue. The setting is complemented by bright yellow lounge chairs and a sophisticated tan leather coffee table. Above the console, a darkly saturated print entitled, “Night Coming Tenderly” by Dawoud Bey deepens the room’s drama and rich aesthetic.

The home’s pièce de résistance is a vibrant stair runner that serves as a spine, weaving through the house and connecting each level. This dramatic visual thread showcases a spectrum of colors, transforming as you move from one floor to the next, and tying the entire space together cohesively. Complementing the stair runner are two stunning artworks by Mika Tajima.

Inspired by their art collection and travels, each corner of the home offers an opportunity for self-expression. Old and new seamlessly intertwine, with each piece of furniture and decorative object adding its own unique addition to the narrative.
