Black Mountain

To update our clients’ one-story suburban ranch house, we started by visually enlarging the original underused living room with a new opening to the room framed by a casework portal.

From there we introduced new modern and oversized furniture, cladded the fireplace in floor-to-ceiling haisa stone, updated the lighting, added new large scale plank flooring with a custom rug, and automated the window coverings. The mix of comfortable modern furniture, playful colors, and over-sized art welcomes both adults and children to what is now the new Family Room hub.

Next, we updated the original traditionally styled Dining Room with grass cloth wall covering, hair on hide rug, graphic linen curtains, a slab walnut table with brushed stainless base, and creamy leather chairs. The new glass honeycomb light pendant adds sculpture during the day and sparkle at night.

Guided by a directive to modernize the Master Suite, cool colors combined with custom walnut furniture, a new modern bed, a plush shearling rug and automated controls create a relaxing retreat. Clad in statuary marble, the Master Bath is simply elegant with sculptural tub, herringbone basalt flooring, and modern fixtures. The walnut backdrop to the casework references the Master Suite bespoke walnut furniture.
